New Cracking Ideas Competition Celebrates 40 Years of Aardman!

Aardman has teamed up with the Intellectual Property Office again this year to bring Aardman fans some new Cracking Ideas challenges to take part in, with some fantastic prizes up for grabs! The competition ties in with Aardman's 40th birthday, which happens later this year.

With the help of Shaun the Sheep and Timmy, Wallace and Gromit, and Morph, youngsters aged 4-16 are being given the opportunity to develop their creative ideas to help celebrate this landmark occasion.

Who is the competition for?

There is a dedicated competition for three age categories, each of which ties in with a favourite Aardman character (4-7 - Shaun/Timmy, 8-11 - Wallace and Gromit, 12-16 - Morph). You can enter the competition individually or as a group (through your school, nursery or youth group, for example)

How to take part in the Shaun the Sheep/Timmy competition

The Shaun the Sheep/Timmy challenge is open to 4-7 year-olds and involves designing a very special birthday present for Timmy! Draw a picture of your idea on the template provided in the downloadable resource pack, then explain your idea either in writing or in a video clip!

You can also have a go at designing your own wrapping paper and making a unique 3D birthday card - everything you need is provided in the resources pack. The competition closes on 22nd July 2016.

The prizes

When you're happy with your birthday present idea, you can submit your entry online or in the post. One winning entry will receive a visit from an Aardman expert for a model making workshop session and screening at your school, plus a multi-user licence for the Animate It! software by Kudlian!
